My first Sonic Game was Sonic 2, I got it for Christmas with my Sega. That was 1992 and I was four.
I played Sonic 2 every day (yet still never beat it...but com'on, I was four!) and then one magical day (a year later) a brand new show came onto play called The Adventures of Sonic The Hedgehog!
By then I was hooked, and I couldn’t get enough! That Christmas I opened what I still consider my best Christmas gift, A Sonic The Hedgehog Plushie (which I still have, and is next to me on my bed! I'm such a dork! >.< ).
This thing went everywhere with me, including into a comic book store. My father was big into the Fantastic Four series, and wanted to check out a new comic book store that opened near our bank. Little did I know what I would find when I walked into that store. On the main comic rack, right in the middle of the store, was a Sonic Comic! It wasn't the first issue ( although I backordered all the ones I had missed) but I had to have it. From that day on, for several years until its closing, I went into that comic book store and bought the newest Sonic Comic out on the stands!
Although I had bought Sonic 1 since getting the Sega, I still wanted a new Sonic Game. Sega met the demand with Sonic 3 (my favourite Sonic Game of all time). I played this thing through so many times I lost count, and when I got Sonic & Knuckles and connected it to Sonic 3 (I can't speak for everyone, but I know I never bothered to play S & K separate from Sonic 3) nothing could be better!
In the years since, I have devoutly played every new game (no matter how horrid some of them where >.< ). To think, had I got a SENS that year for Christmas instead....no no, we mustn’t think of that!
My love for games is massive, including many titles on many different systems (including Nintendo :p) but it all started with a Sega, and Sonic the Hedgehog 2.
